I’m Aris Ruyter – building safer communities through data, technology & people.

Community safety leader, operations director and facilitator. I design and run practical systems – from ANPR camera networks and patrol apps to CPF structures and operations – so that ordinary people, security partners and SAPS can work together to push crime back.

01 • About Aris

I’ve always lived where operations, technology and people intersect. From electrical and building maintenance to community safety platforms and CPF structures, my work is about taking responsibility, simplifying complexity and leaving things better than I found them.

Professional profile

I am a smart-working, honest operations manager and director with over a decade of experience in Information Technology, Property and Operations Management. I build and maintain effective teams, implement company policy, and think strategically within real-world constraints to move organisations and communities forward.

I am friendly, helpful and tactful, with a good sense of humour. I’m comfortable working independently in busy environments or within a team, and I listen carefully when problems need solving. I’m always enthusiastic to learn and to take on new challenges – especially projects that protect people or improve how we live and work.

02 • Leadership & Impact

My work is grounded in Pretoria East – taking responsibility for real communities and building structures that outlast any single person: forums, NPCs, patrol ecosystems, data dashboards and camera networks.

Chairperson • Garsfontein CPF
Pretoria East • Community Policing Forum
Sector 1 Chair
Leading CPF structures to create a trusted bridge between SAPS, TMPD, security partners, councillors and residents. My focus is on:
  • Developing sector-based operations and visible policing initiatives.
  • Using data and intelligence-led policing principles to guide deployments.
  • Building accountability, transparency and proper governance in CPF work.
Founding Director • Alpha Security Forum (ASF)
Registered NPC • Pretoria East
Integrity • Unity • Accountability
ASF is a neutral platform that unites multiple security companies, SAPS stations, TMPD, CPFs and local forums. I drive:
  • Cross-forum operations and shared intelligence (vehicles, suspects, hotspots).
  • ANPR/LPR camera projects, from sponsorship models to deployment and usage.
  • Data dashboards, operation reports and templates that make cooperation simple.
Estate & Security Management • Ridgefield Security Estate
Operations & Community Engagement
Ongoing
Overseeing day-to-day operations, guards and security systems, while building a culture of “for the community, by the community” – from security upgrades to community markets and guard appreciation initiatives.

03 • Technology & Projects

I design and co-build tools that make security work easier, faster and more reliable – from bots and dashboards to ANPR camera networks and reporting frameworks.

Bots & Automation
RSE Guard Bot

A Telegram-based guard management bot that standardises handovers, checks, shift changes and incident reporting – reducing confusion and creating usable guard data for management.

Focus: guard accountability • consistent checklists • exportable logs
Vehicle Intelligence
PE-VIS / Vehicle Intel System

A Pretoria East vehicle intelligence concept that combines ANPR/LPR camera hits, WhatsApp/Telegram intel and SAPS information into practical BOLOs, success reports and route analysis.

Focus: suspect vehicle tracking • cloned plate detection • route mapping
Mobile Ecosystem
Alpha Patroller & Profiler Apps

A planned dual-app ecosystem: Patroller (for logging patrols, operations and session data) and Profiler (for searching and linking vehicles, people and incidents). Built on a role-based Firebase/Firebase Firestore backend with a shared dashboard.

Focus: controlled access • sector/station views • clean UX for responders
Data & Dashboards
SAPS Crime Data Dashboard

A structured dashboard concept for SAPS stations that allows weekly case uploads, sector filters, hotspot mapping and trend analysis (week-on-week and month-on-month) – focusing on raw numbers rather than just percentages.

Focus: better decisions • hotspot-driven deployments • intel-rich but simple
Camera Networks
ANPR/LPR Deployment Models

Developed practical funding and deployment models for ANPR/LPR cameras across Pretoria East – including sponsorship structures, Navic integration and standalone solar-powered options – to protect residents, estates and key routes.

Focus: sustainable funding • unified access • early-warning perimeters
Community Operations
High-Visibility & Joint Ops

Regularly plans and facilitates high-visibility operations with SAPS, CPFs, security companies and forums – including structured briefings, operation plans, success reports and public safety messaging.

Focus: visibility • deterrence • public reassurance & awareness

04 • Skills & Approach

I’m not a theorist – I’m a practitioner. My value lies in taking complex realities and turning them into simple, honest systems that people can actually use – on the street, in control rooms and in boardrooms.
